The Asia-Pacific Law Institute of Seoul National University (Prof. Seongwook Heo , Director) held an academic conference entitled "Asian Forum for Comparative Legal Studies" on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Seoam Hall, located on the 6th floor of Seoul National University Building 17, together with the Centre for Asian Legal Studies (CALS) of the National University of Singapore. The conference began with welcoming remarks by JongBo Kim, Dean of the School of Law, and Seongwook Heo, Director of the Institute, and opening remarks by Prof. Christian HOFMANN , Deputy Director, Centre for Asian Legal Studies of the National University of Singapore. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Gye-Jung Lee, Deputy Director of the Institute, Prof. Guangwen Jiang, Prof. WU Ying-Chieh, Prof. Joon Hyug Chung, Prof. Jong Hyeok Lee, Prof. Jaemin Lee , Prof. Woongjae Kim and Prof. Sangchul Park from the School of Law, and Prof. Luh Luh LAN, Prof. Teng LI, and Prof. Weitseng CHEN from the National University of Singapore. The conference was organized into several sessions that provided in-depth discussions on various topics. Each session explored different aspects of Asian legal studies, emphasizing the importance of comparative legal studies to understand and address the unique challenges faced by Asian legal systems in a global context.
