The SNU Asia-Pacific Law Institute (Director: Prof. Jong-ik Chon) co-hosted an expert dialogue with the Song Sang-Hyun International Justice, Peace and Human Rights Foundation on June 25, 2026, at Seoam Hall, Bldg. 17, SNU School of Law, under the theme "Shifting Order, Challenged Norms: What Can International Criminal Justice Do?" The event opened with remarks by Yong-Deok Kim, Chair of the Song Sang-Hyun Foundation and former Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea, and Prof. Jong-ik Chon, Director of the SNU Asia-Pacific Law Institute. Judge Chang-ho Chung, former Judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC), delivered the keynote lecture entitled "The Clash between Horizontal Sovereignty and Vertical Justice: The ICC's Jurisdiction over Nationals of Non-State Parties and the Question of Immunity."
The keynote was followed by a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Prof. Cheolwoo Lee (Yonsei Law School), with Prof. Youngseok Kim (Ewha Womans University Law School), Prof. Beomseok Baek (Kyung Hee University Law School), and Prof. Jinyoung Hong (SNU School of Law), who discussed key issues and future challenges in international criminal justice.
