The Asia-Pacific Law Institute of Seoul National University (Director Prof. Jong-ik Chon) hosted the UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Days 2025 academic conference in cooperation with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RCAP). The event was opened and moderated by Prof. WU Ying-Chieh. Athita Komindr of UNCITRAL RCAP participated through a recorded video and delivered a presentation on “UNCITRAL Instruments Related to Electronic Commerce”. This was followed by a presentation by Ms. Jina Park, Deputy Director at the Ministry of Justice’s International Legal Affairs Division, on “An Introduction to UNCITRAL-Related Work of the Ministry of Justice’s International Legal Affairs Bureau” and Attorney Merve GÖKMEN presented on “The Impact of Smart Products on Party Autonomy in Choice of Law Agreements from a Consumer Protection Perspective”. In addition, Ms. Sion Gil, Legal Expert at UNCITRAL RCAP, gave a presentation on “An Introduction to the Work of UNCITRAL and UNCITRAL RCAP" and Legal Expert Michael Chan delivered a presentation on the “UNCITRAL Case Law Database and Internship Program”. Prof. WU Ying-Chieh , faculty members, and students from the Law School participated in the event and engaged in discussions and a Q&A session, successfully concluding the UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Day event.
