The Asia Pacific Law Institute (Prof. Seongwook Heo, Director), in collaboration with the KLRI (Korea Legislation Research Institute), held the 2024 International Conference under the theme of “Global Circular Society Strategies and Domestic and International Issues” on September 27th (Friday), 2024, in Room 203, Building NO. 15-1, Seoul National University School of Law. Yeong-Soo Han, President of the KLRI, delivered an opening speech, Prof. Seongwook Heo, Director of the Seoul National University Asia Pacific Law Institute delivered a welcome speech, Kyung-Nam Shin, Assistant Director-General of GGGI (Global Green Growth Institute) delivered a congratulatory address.
The conference was divided into two sessions. The first session was moderated by Deputy Director Prof. Joon Hyug Chung under the topics of “China's Energy Law and Policy in the Context of Circular Economy” and “The Legal Framework for Marine Genetic Resources from a Circular Economy Perspective: Based on a Comparison between the CBD and the UNCLOS”. The second session was moderated by Vice President of KLRI Sun-Tae Yi under the topics of "Japan's Circular Society Strategy and Plastic Regulation Trend" and "UN Plastic Treaty Responding Strategy & Domestic Legal Challenge". The presentations were followed by lively discussions on resources, technology, energy and Plastic Regulation.
